Founded in 2012 the Confederation of RWAs (CoRWA) is a pan-India apex body of RWAs across the country. It is headquartered in Hyderabad. Since its inception CoRWA has made rapid strides playing a key role in spreading the RWA Mission across the length and breadth of the country. From the First National Conference of RWAs (1st NCRWA-2012) held in Hyderabad in November 2012 to the recent 5th NCRWA in Mumbai, CoRWA made its impact felt in almost all major cities of the country by bringing together all like-minded people to a common platform every year to discuss and deliberate on several issues of civic life.
CoRWA transformed consolidated disparate RWAs into a force that has had immense impact on policy making on major issues like solid-waste management, the RERA Act implementation, Right to Information, Housing Society problems, pollution, and other issues of urban environment.
In fact it was as a result of the engagement with CoRWA that Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development, Sri Hardeep Singh Puri, who was the Chief Guest at the 5th NCRWA Conference held in Mumbai (18th and 19th November 2017), openly announced that the Government was considering a proposal to give constitutional status to RWAs, clearly proves that” the RWAs are here and their voice loud and clear”.
